SHAKER MAKERS: HAND-TIED BROOMS

Shaker Village’s 2016 Discovery Treks are curated weekend programs designed to inspire new perspectives through Shaker lessons of community, sustainability and ingenuity
The Shakers are world famous for their flat brooms. Learn this traditional craft by making two functional hand-held brooms—a bundle brush and a turkey-wing. Learn to wrap, tie and finish hand-made brooms just like the Shakers. All necessary materials are provided. No experience necessary and all levels encouraged. Registration will close the Thursday prior to the event.
