Shaker Village Illuminated

This year, the holidays at Shaker Village will glow like never before. The air will be filled with the smell of freshly baked goodies, the sound of joyous carols and the jingle of Christmas bells. At dusk, the grand buildings along the village road will be illuminated by the twinkling of hundreds of candles. Celebrate the simple gifts of the season with holiday classics, evening candlelight tours, and a visit from a very special guest.

Cost: $10 per car (personal vehicle) & canned good donation. $20 per extended van/mini bus with less than 20 people. Groups over 20, call 800.734.5611 x1545 for pricing. Guests attending The Simple Gifts of Christmas receive free admission!

SCHEDULE OF EVENING EVENTS

A Shaker Christmas by Candlelight – Guided Tours
4 PM, 5 PM and 6 PM | Centre Family Dwelling
Take a lantern-lit tour of the Centre Family Dwelling as Shaker Christmas customs of donating to the needy, singing, cooking and decorating the tree are brought to life.

Jingle Bell Shuttle
4 PM – 7 PM | No Admission Necessary
Stroll the lantern-lit turnpike adorned with fresh holiday swags, or catch a ride on a horse-drawn wagon as it jingles all the way.

Make Your Own Ornament
4 PM – 7 PM | Centre Family Dwelling
Shaker children celebrated by decorating Christmas trees with popcorn strings and paper chains, by exchanging gifts and even visits from Santa! Make ornaments to take home, decorate the tree and sing Christmas songs.

Lighting of the Tree, Caroling and Storytelling with Mrs. Claus
7 PM – 8:30 PM
The official start to our holiday season! Warm up by the fire while drinking hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music. Help Mrs. Claus light the Christmas tree then join her for a whimsical evening of caroling and storytelling.

Craft Shops Open House & Sale - EXTENDED HOURS
10 AM – 8 PM | No Admission Necessary
Visit the new Holiday Shop and the Carpenters’ Shop for one-of-a-kind gifts surrounded by the smell of cookies and live seasonal music - and receive 15% off all regularly-priced merchandise. The shops will be introducing new lines of holiday collectibles, decorations, gift baskets, toys and gifts for all ages.
