SCOPE OF WORK:
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:- Performs physical assessments, lab testing and counseling as instructed by the Clinical Service Guide (CSG) for Health Departments, including but not limited to well adult and well child exams, breast and cervical cancer screenings, and school physicals.
- Conducts physical exams, health histories, and screenings for patients of all ages; diagnoses and treats acute and chronic health conditions within scope of practice
- Case management for breast and cervical cancer diagnosis and treatment.
- Family planning services according to the Clinical Service Guide for LHD’s, including prescription of birth control methods and insertion and removal of LARC devices.
- Manages Hepatitis C and uncomplicated TB cases following clinical guidelines in accordance with 902 KAR 2:090. Develop plans of care and provide patient education.
- Follows established standing orders and APRN protocols; Consult and report to the Infectious Disease Branch and the Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Program, when appropriate.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Prescribes medications and non-pharmacologic treatments in accordance with state law.
- Provides patient education on disease prevention, health maintenance, and chronic disease management.
- Coordinates care with medical director, specialists, and other healthcare providers.
- Agrees to provide training and shadowing needed for RNs.
- Agrees to follow all written policies and procedures of the Health Department and Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Administrative Reference for Health Departments at all times while performing the above services.
- Agrees to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines of all patient care information and assure patient's rights.
- The Health Department agrees to pay previously agreed upon reasonable registration costs for approved continuing education needed by the Employee.
- Agrees to provide proof of current professional license.
- All personnel have a responsibility to respond to Local Health Department emergency situations.
COMPENSATION/PAYMENT:- $52.50 PER HOUR payable biweekly
- Travel expenses will be reimbursed at the current state mileage rate.
- Not to exceed 1170 hours for the fiscal year / 22.5 hours per week / 45 hours per pay period.
