SUMMARY:Holiday Homes Tour 2015
DESCRIPTION:24th Annual Holiday Homes Tour 2015 by The Harrodsburg Historical Society\n\nMarian Bauer\n\nHarrodsburg Historical Society\n\nChristmas Committee\nFor 24 consecutive years\, the Harrodsburg Historical Society has held The Christmas Holiday Homes Tour on the first Saturday of December\, which this year is Saturday\, December 5\, 2015\, from 1:00-7:00. The Historical Society also opens a Tea Room in their headquarters\, located in historic Morgan Row on Chiles Street\, Harrodsburg on Friday and Saturday. Although not included as one of the paid tour sites\, Morgan Row is a jewel worth visiting as it is reputed to be the oldest row house west of the Allegheny Mountains. It was the town's most impressive tavern built by Squire Joseph Morgan for whom it is named. Tour tickets may be purchased there as well as your lunch or dinner. A menu of homemade sandwiches\, soups\, beverages\, and desserts is offered. Lunch at the Tea Room is from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday\, Dec. 4th and on the day of the tour Saturday\, Dec. 5th from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Homes Tour tickets are $15\, Seniors and Groups of 20 or more $11. \n\n \n Along with the seven historic properties included with your tour ticket\, the town of Burgin\, east of Harrodsburg\, is being featured in this year's tour. This is the second year for this new addition to the Homes Tour -- focusing on the specific history of a community within Mercer County. Guests will tour several properties in the central area of Harrodsburg before following the map east on Burgin Road (Hwy 152) to Burgin.\n\nHarrodsburg is the oldest permanent English settlement in Kentucky. Local accommodations include the acclaimed historic Beaumont Inn and Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill\, and The Coleman House B & B.
