Harrodsburg, the county seat of Mercer County, is the oldest permanent
English settlement west of the Allegheny Mountains. The city is located
33 miles southwest of Lexington, Kentucky; 74 miles southeast of Louisville,
Kentucky; and 111 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio. Harrodsburg had an estimated
1994 population of 7,596 persons.
